To connect to your site, you will need the Contribute software. Please see our start guide above about installing Contribute on your PC. (Contribute can take a few minutes to load - please be patient)

PLEASE NOTE: You will only have to do the following once! Once you have connected to your site following the steps below, Contribute will automatically bookmark your site to avoid repeating these steps every time you wish to edit your site.

OK, Once installed, You will need to do the following to connect to your site:

1. Open up the Contribute programme. (it's easy if you put an icon on your desktop to quickly launch the programme, again contribute can take a while to move from screen to screen, please be patient).

2. Once Contribute has loaded go to: Edit > My Connections (see below)

3. On the pop up screen, click on "Create" (see below) - We are now going to tell Contribute exactly how it will connect to your website, allowing you to edit the site.

4. Once you click on "Create", Follow the onscreen instructions. You will need to click on "Next" to enter the website address that you wish to edit. Once you have entered your website address ie, http://www.yourtravelsite.co.uk You will then be prompted for information on how you connect to your site. (see below)

5. You will need to select "FTP" from the drop down list as per above. Once you have selected "FTP", you will then be prompted in input your FTP settings as per below.

6. Contribute will now test the connection and the FTP details you have entered. This can take a few minutes so please be patient.

7. Once connected you should see the following screen below.

7. Once you have typed "/website/" in the text field shown above (or alternatively click on the choose button and navigate to the folder called "website". You have now connected to contribute and contribute can now locate your website ready for you to edit. If asked if you are a publisher or administrator for the site, select "Publisher". Once you have done this and clicked on "Next". That's it!. Simply now enter your name and email address when prompted and click "Done".

Please note will only have to go through this procedure once. Now you have entered the connection details to your site, Contribute will remember these details the next time you come to edit your site.

8. Now you have added your connection to Contribute, your connection pop up screen should resemble below.

9. Once the connection has been added as per above, now click on "Close". Again, please give contribute a few minutes, The software (Contribute) should now open up your travel site in its main view.

10. The "Edit Button" at the top left, simple does that. It will allow you to edit the web page currently being seen. To change the web page you wish to edit, simply choose the web page you wish to edit by clicking the button at the top right named "Choose". (See above).

Once you click on "Edit", Contribute will now load in the page in an editable fashion. You will see something similar to the screen shot below. This shows how the page is made up and what areas you can actually edit. (See below)

Please be patient, Contribute can take a couple of minutes to fully upload the page.
In between this time try to avoid additional clicks until contribute responds.
