:: How To Edit Your Travel Site With Contribute ::

Hints/Tips

The best tips about editing your travel site are as follows:

1. Always be patient with Contribute, Sometimes it doesn't really look like the software is responding at times, it is though!. It just takes a few moments to collate the data etc.

2. Be VERY careful clicking and dragging on your web page/site when you are editing the page via Contribute. The pages of your travel site are made up of tables and cells and all have specific measurements in these tables/cells. Dragging or accidentally moving tables/lines may disfigure your page/site. If this happens, simply cancel your changes and perhaps re-do them? or Undo any changes you have done by going to "Edit > Undo" at the top of contribute.

3. When adding a new offer into your offer pages, always get in the habit of adding a new row before you copy and paste an offer into the page. If for example you wanted to add 10 more offers, add 10 rows first. Then you can copy an exisiting offer and paste it into each row seperately before editing the text to reflect the new offers. 4. Editing your site should be simple. If for some reason you are having to change the links/urls of any of the pages then something is wrong. All links are pre determined and it should only be the content that is changed within these pages. By changing links yourself may cause the site to error.

5. Editing text on your site is easier if you click in between the text you wish to change and then delete the letters around the new word you don't need. This keeps the text the same colour and style and reduces the amount of work needed to reassign colours/styles/sizes etc. (See below).

EG. I wish to change the price seen on the holiday offers...

Rather than delete the words "£n/a" for example, Try typing the new price or title in between the current words/characters. (see Above).

Try to get in the habit of changing all text on your travel site like this.

By deleting the whole word first and then typing in the new text will mean you have to them assign a colour, size and style to the new text - which takes time.

Its a far better work method to type the new text "in between" the current text and then simply delete the characters that you dont want after. Thus leaving the new text in place.
